Nourishing Communities with Regenerative Agriculture & Education

In 2021, PPB launched a sustainability initiative by partnering with PWD Smart FarmAbility Enterprise and sponsoring 1,500 Hope Boxes. These organic regenerative vegetable terrariums are designed to be harvested easily at home, providing fresh, chemical-free greens to improve nutrition among underserved communities. Over the following year, most recipients continued to harvest regularly, demonstrating that the Hope Boxes could reliably supply organic vegetables right at their doorstep, easing the financial strain of rising food costs.

Building on this success, PPB expanded its commitment in 2022 by sponsoring five Satellite Farms for welfare homes and families in need, again in collaboration with PWD. Each Satellite Farm uses a symbiosis regenerative soil aquaponic system, allowing recipients to harvest not only organic vegetables but also fresh Tilapia fish. This supports a more balanced diet, while any surplus can be sold locally to generate additional income. These systems were delivered to homes such as Pertubuhan Warga Emas Kenang Budi KL, En Yuan Old Folks Home Sg Way, and several community-based support centres.

The following year, PPB continued to scale its partnership with PWD, launching Satellite Farms in 10 schools alongside MoSAIC, UKM, and Chemquest Group. Students participated in a hands-on workshop to learn regenerative farming principles and received a TVET certification in Basic Soil Health. In the programme’s second phase, they also harvested vegetables and fish, either for their own use or to share with the community while gaining practical skills with live flora and fauna. Successful participants earned a second TVET certification from Green Project Management Global USA.

In 2024, PPB sponsored five more Satellite Farms for schools with special education programmes. The farms serve as practical learning tools, helping students, including those with different abilities, understand food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture in an engaging, accessible way.

PPB contributed 300 Hope Box terrariums to special-needs schools, orphanages, and elderly care homes in 2025. Each delivery was paired with educational programmes to ensure long-term use and impact, enhancing food security, offering therapeutic learning, and supporting community nutrition for years to come.
